Do you offer a browser-based news reader?
We don't offer a browser-based news reader at this time.
How long are your retention times?
Our retention times vary from one newsgroup to the next, depending on a number of factors. It is
generally at least two weeks for heavily trafficked groups, to over a month
for slower ones. Note: The very heavily trafficked DVD binary groups may experience shorter retention times. We encourage you to try our 5 day trial account for just one dollar to see if our retention times for your favorite newsgroups are
suitable for your needs.
Can I sign up without rebilling?
Yes, but you will have to email us. We will then set up a special order form for you, and once you have paid, set up your account. Note: New user discounts are not available in non-rebilled subscriptions.
Do you have a download limit?
The daily download limit per account is 2,250 megabytes.
How many connections are allowed at a time per account?
We allow six simultaneous connections.
How do I cancel my account?
To cancel an account, go to our cancel page, fill out the form with the email address you used to sign up, and click on the button marked "cancel my subscription". If you subscribe through Stormpay, you can also cancel your subscription through their website.
Does Usenet Ranger monitor my usenet usage?
We respect your privacy at Usenet Ranger; we maintain no logs or accounts of
your server usage or internet activity, and do not in any way monitor your
activity, except how much you have downloaded, to enforce the download limit.
Do I have to live in the USA to sign up with Usenet Ranger?
No, we accept subscribers from all over the world.
What are your completion rates?
Completion rates are typically at 95 to 99 percent, incomplete binary posts can usually be recovered with
par2 files, plus for our regular customers we have Download Insurance, if you miss getting a binary file because it was incomplete, we will attempt to get it for you and repost it.
What will be the price per month when the special offers are over?
No specific amount for the price increase has been determined at this time, although an
increase in the monthly fee of one or two dollars is the most likely
scenario. However, at the time of the price increase existing customers will
keep their old subscription rate for the amount of time stated on the front page of our
website.
Will I be able to change my user name and password once my account is set up?
Customers can change their username and/or password at any time; simply email us a request using
the same email address you used to sign up, and the change will be made within 24 hours.
